About My Blog
I have always enjoyed writing. I took a memoir writing class in the mid-2000’s and have written dozens of stories about my life to share with my family. When my husband was diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei (aka appendix cancer) in 2014, writing became my place to write about our journey, about the treatment, hospitalizations, frustrations and hopes. Truly a way to put into concrete words what I was feeling and enable me to deal with all that was going on. (see https://pseudomyxomacancer.blogspot.com )
I am not an expert in any one topic by any stretch of the imagination. However, I would like to think that all the life experiences I have had over my years on this planet have given me new skills, new knowledge and a wisdom that comes only with age.
My ability to be flexible and patient with difficult situations has shown me that to live in love and truth and faith is powerful in overcoming the many shadows that are cast over us.
When polling others for ideas for this blog, the results were somewhat varied. Many were interested in giving them examples of what it was like to work through some of my difficult moments, to show them the possibilities for their own lives. Others asked for some “how to” sorts of things – like navigating through the real things in life such as insurance, health care, etc. I will do my best to try to touch on a variety of topics. Some will be done through storytelling, personal example, etc. Some through doing a little research and some by reaching out to others who may have more experience than me.
Whatever your reason for joining my blog, my desire is that you find hope in the worst of times and joy in the many blessings we have in front of us each and every day.
